Brooke Neal

Today, we had an olympian NZ hockey player. Brooke Neal came to our school and talked about three olympic values. Excellence, friendship and respect. Also she talked about her goals and her achievements and what she did in the 2016 RIO Olympics. I ask her for an autograph. she smiled and she signed it on my book. What inspired me is that she never gives up on her goals and her dreams.

Watching Silver Ferns vs Australia Diamonds final netball game in Vector Arena

On Saturday the 15th of October Shanelle, Lauren, Nikayia, my mother and I went to Vector Arena  to watch the Silver Ferns vs Australia Diamonds final game in netball. I was very excited because it was my first time watching a real live netball game. And also I was so happy and I got to see my favourite Silver Fern shooter, Maria Tutaia.

Thank you BLK so much for offering us a free ticket to watch their final game for the Constellation cup!

My goal in writing

LEARNING AREA: My goal is to write well-constructed, accurate, interesting stories and to make sure I write enough in the time we are allowed.

To do this I will work on…..
  • Planning before-hand.
  • Thinking fast and making sure I get something down on paper.
  • Making decisions and not spending too long wondering which word is right or wrong.
  • Using the right structure e.g powerful intro, problem, resolution and conclusion.
  • Using paragraphs and topic sentences.
  • Using interesting vocabulary.
  • Using interesting sentence structures.
  • Using the right tenses (Is it happening now or did it happen in the past? or is it going to happen?)
  • Using the correct punctuation especially “ ”
  • Double checking spelling and grammar

Personification Poem

The wind whistles
The sky is cloudless
Finally a chance for a sun to shine
It made their hair wave from side to side
